The business started out as a Cairns courier business as there was a need for an one hour express courier run in the Cairns area. This part of the business took off in leaps and bounds so swift the Jaimelle Whitaker (John Petersen’s partner) left her fulltime employment to work with John in mid 1996. Another opportunity presented itself in 1998 and John started a run once a day to Port Douglas. This quickly became two runs a day in vans. Through this run into Port Douglas we noticed an opening for the niche marketing of a refrigerated truck to Port Douglas to service all the restaurants and resorts. We were the first local transport business to give this service, from there we then moved into the Innisfail and Tableland areas with refrigerated trucks. As the business grew we altered the name to J P press, sold the Cairns courier part of the business and moved solely into refrigerated transport for the local area. We are audited each year to retain these accreditation. The depot has an rating with axis so we are able to place goods for the export market of Australia into all parts of the globe. J P press refrigerated transport, storage and distribution as being a little business, we understand that our livelihood depends on your being pleased with our service. J P press PRIDES itself on storing and moving products by the pallet or box, at temperature, on time, for all clients large or small. Clients can access dry, chiller and freezer storage on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Our distribution services include stacking, consolidation and picking goods, as well as refrigerated transport to all areas in and around the Cairns area and Tropical North Queensland, Australia. Our drivers deliver into supermarkets, bakeries, swift food franchises, hotels, motels, resorts, butcher shops, schools, takeaways as healthy as restaurants.
