Our labor is devoted to enabling the people of Cape York to make choices and have opportunities that improve their lives and their children’s lives. Securing genuine jobs for Cape York people depends on creating pathways to existing local jobs increasing mobility, or orbiting people to labor opportunities changing social norms and enabling economic development to create more Cape York jobs. The Cape York reform agenda outlined in Cape York Institute’s landmark From Hand Out to Hand Up (2007) highlighted why reforms were required as a matter of priority to shift Cape York communities away from the social housing welfare model that promotes dependency and passivity. The nurturing and mentoring of tomorrow Cape York leaders is essential to creating a vibrant and triumphant Cape York Indigenous community. The work of the Family Responsibilities Commission is also focused on restoring definite social norms and building individual and family capability. Cape York Partnership is the engine room for a collective of entities that labor to deliver on the reforming Cape York Agenda, a blueprint for transforming the lives of Cape York Indigenous people. Cape York Institute takes the lead in the development of innovative policy reform to transition Indigenous people from yielding welfare dependency to engagement with the real economy, and to revitalize Indigenous responsibility. The Indigenous people of Cape York Our work is inspired and informed by the thinking of old people and former Cape York leaders. The restoration of Indigenous authority and the development of leadership are central to the Cape York Agenda, as community and family leaders will be the champions for change. The Cape York Institute for Policy and Leadership is committed to empowering talented Indigenous leaders of the region to drive and own the Cape York Agenda by providing them with the required leadership skills. The Cape York Leaders Program aims to aid its members in building the confidence and skills they require to become definite role models within their communities. The four phases of the Cape York Leaders Program are: Cape York Partnership is committed to empowering talented Indigenous leaders of the region to drive and own the Cape York Agenda, by providing them with the necessary leadership skills. The Cape York Leaders Program supports the development of current and future Cape York leaders. These skills will also permit them to grow as leaders within their families and communities. Once Leaders have excelled, it is their time to share their journey and experience with other members of the Cape York Leaders Program! The College is dedicated to improving educational outcomes for Indigenous students and providing a robust vocational education program that will lead to quality employment. Supported by family and community involvement and engagement in education. Djarragun College’s strong academic, sporting and cultural programs produce pathways to employment, professional careers and further education. The Cape York Girl Academy ensures every Indigenous girl can entire their education. Girls can labor toward their goals, construct healthy and glad families, and attain educational, economic and community success. Cape York Partnership and our people support empowerment of the Indigenous people of Cape York, the key agents of change. At Cape York Partnership she is responsible for policy and design, and the direction and implementation of key areas such as leadership development, employment, and Cape York on ground operations.
